Zea

A sample of zea seed basically looks similar to a tooth. It is long and almost rectangular shape. Protective sheaths are located at the middle of the seed. An area other than that is comprised of endosperm. The contents that make up the endosperm look like spores. The outer edge of the sample appears to be red, and it is called seed coat.

Protective Sheaths

	200x	The cells that are found in the protective sheaths are rectangular. They have distinct nucleus and nuclei inside of the cells. These cells seem to be overlapping, since some cells appear to be vague.
	400x	The cells disappear at the end of the protective sheaths. They are not cut off, and they literally disappear.

Area between Protective Sheaths

	100x	The cells in the area inside of the red ring seem to have interesting shape. Unlike other cells with distinct border between each other, the cells in this area seem to be messed up.
	1000x	The cell walls are barely visible, and other cells seem to be mixed together. The internal structures of each cell are hardly visible.

Endosperm

	200x	The cells in the endosperm contain numerous amount of spore-like objects inside. Each of these individual objects has one black dots at the center of it. The body of these objects are translucent.
	400x	The size of the cells becomes smaller as they approach to the seed coat. As the size of the cells decreases, the size of the spore-like objects also decreases.

Root Area

	200x	There are many interesting substances around the root area of the seed. These substances don't have a certain shape. Some spore-like objects are found inside of these substances.
	400x	The tubular tissues are found near the root. These tubular tissue seem to have scales on their surface.

Seed Coat

	200x	The seed coat appears to be red epidermis around the seed. One thing that it is different from epidermis is that it is darn thick. The fibers form a net on the coat.
	400x	This edge of the sample doesn't have seed coat. Instead, thin and transparent cells act as a border for the seed.
