A cross-section of poa leaf looks like a long string. Most parts of the sample is thin, but the center of it is spacious. The center part of the leaf seems to be empty. There are many vascular bundles on the sample.

Center of Leaf Image Data Description 100x The center part of the leaf is formed by many cells with a few vascular bundles. The cells seem to be overlapping and filled with greenish substances. The edge of the leaf seems to be rough. 200x There are thorns found on the edge of the leaf. Even though the entire sample is green, the thorns appear to be red.

Vascular Bundle Image Data Description 200x The vascular bundles are seen on the sample. There are distinct xylem, phloem, and bundle sheath. The cells are found around the bundle. 400x There are also small vascular bundles. These bundles don't seem to have distinct xylem and phloem.

Inner Contents Image Data Description 400x The poa leaf has interesting inner contents. The inner tissues appear to be green. The cells don't seem to have clearly visible cell walls. Some cells appear to be reddish. 400x There are a few big and transparent cells found near the edge of the sample. These cells are bigger than other cells found around the vascular bundles.
