This
young pine cone is ellipse shaped and about one centimeter. This
green cone has outer shell and inner content. The outer shell is
divided into several areas like islands, and each area is filled
with many spores. The inner contents are basically comprised of many
cells and tissues.
Tip Part
Image
Data
Description
100x
The tip part of the pine sample is
triangular shaped. Inside of the tip is filled with
brown cells and tissues.
200x
There are many brown cells and
green tissues on the tip part of the cone. Many tiny
white dots are spotted on the surface of the brown
cell. Green cells in the tissue contain distinct
nucleus inside.
400x
The tip of the pine is green and
contains many cells. These cells appear to be
brownish. These cells appear with their nuclei .
Spores
Image
Data
Description
200x
Many spores are found in the outer
shells. The spores seem to contain nucleus inside of
it. One spore in the image is unusually pink; other
spores are green.
400x
Spores are circular shaped, but
some spores are strangely amorphous. These amorphous
spores seem to be damaged.
Sharp Edge
Image
Data
Description
100x
The most edge of the cone is as
sharp as a needle. The edge parts seem to be filled
with brown cells. At the center of the image is a
hole that formed by the cells.
200x
The outer parts of the cone
contains tiny spores inside of them. These tiny
spores are brown and found in the inner parts also.
Inner Contents

Data
Description
200x
Green transparent tissues are found
at inner parts of the cone. Some nuclei are visible
inside of the tissues. There are interesting
line-pattern on the upper parts of the tissues.
200x
These brown cells are also found
near the green tissues. These cells seem to have
smooth surface. Some brown cells seem to have
liver-shape.
400x
The brown cells in the picture have
many tiny brownish spores inside. These spores seem
to be the same as ones that are found in outer part.
